A lot of you have asked what specific equipment, supplements, etc I use. I’ve tried many products over the years and these are the ones I would recommend.
Bowflex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells
For those of you short on space and cash (what student isn’t?), adjustable dumbbell sets are a great compromise. I’ve tried a few and these are my favorite. Easy to swap out, good grips, and they look pretty cool.
Heavy Duty PRO Lifting Hooks
After you’ve been lifting for a while, your hands become your weakest points, limiting how much weight you can work with. These hooks take a lot of the strain off of your hands to allow you to hit that new PR on deadlifts.
I like these over other hooks and straps because they’re comfortable and don’t slip around when I sweat.
TRX Suspension Trainer
These TRX systems are great whether you travel a lot or, like me, don’t want to risk your security deposit by drilling holes in your apartment. You can easily get a full workout at home with a set of these.
Fitbit Blaze Fitness Tracker
I got this as a gift a few months ago and it has totally replaced my regular watch.
I don’t have to worry about sweating in it, I can make sure my heart rate stays up during my workouts, and they battery lasts for days.
It even knows when I start a workout so I don’t have to remember to manually track it.
Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein Powder
Protein and fitness go together like peanut butter flavored protein powder and jelly (I would NOT recommend this sandwich).
I’ve tried quite a few different brands but I keep coming back to ON. It’s delicious, effective, comes in a lot of flavors, and is easy on my wallet.
Whether you’re just getting started on your fitness journey or you’re a seasoned gym rat, I would recommend this protein powder to everyone.
